I kind of love my outfit today and figured it was a good a time as any to post my first-ever self pic instead of just an itemized listing of the items.
Unfortunately:
- I still havent figured out how to take a decent pic with my iPhone
- I didn’t think to do this at home, in a full-length mirror, hence, the lovely forescent lighting
oh well!

Oddly hazy, so I tried again, closer:

Cardigan: Old Navy – found for $20 just after buying a bunch from JCrew (yes – I took the JC ones back on stocked up on these!
Top: Banana’s Heritage Collection – and I love it!
Necklace: From a local artist, bought at a boutique in the Third Ward that’s since closed
Knit Skirt: just from Target, always worn high on the waist

My prized Tory Burch pumps! I usually wear them only in the warmer months, but loved them today with tights.

Any other tips on winterizing non-winter items? I layer a tissue turtlenexk under just about EVERYTHING starting in November (white eyelet included!)
Any tips on taking iPhone photos? I obviously could use them!

My outfit is on the boring side today, and if we’re being honest, on the matchy-matchy side as well…
I started off knowing I’d wear the new Tory Burch Revas which greeted me on the kitchen counter upon my arrival home from work Friday.

I know – I’m the luckiest B ever, for having the cutest husband around, who’s also more understanding than I ever could have hoped for, of my expensive taste. Believe me, if I could clone him and disperse him to all my single and lovely girlfriends, I would…but since I can’t, I’ll remind you that he’s mine!
Since I’m doing flats, pants are out of the question (as if I ever wear them anyway; dresses are my uniform), and since it’s Monday, I can get away with being on the casual side…a short-sleeved black knit dress with ruched dropped waist made the cut, topped by a printed cardigan in ivory with a tan and black graphic floral. My fail-safe long gold chain with raw quartz stone pendant made the cut, as did my birthday present from my (brag-worthy) husband:

All was well until I added the kicker, my trusty black leather Banana bag – with sleek GOLD hardware. The husband busted me out – I looked matchy-matchy in the matching shoes/handbag way that I despise. I can’t find a picture of the bag online, as I got it to replace my stolen bag after the wedding back in October, but maybe I can remember to take some pics tonight?
I was going to go reverse shopping/returning my my lunch break, but have been to ashamed to leave the office – tear. I kid! Although I’m disappointed in my honest mistake/lack of will to change purses, thus avoiding this debacle, it was my drive to blog that prevented my journey out…
I’m feeling rather dramatic today, no?

Today I observed an all-day training session that I will be assuming when my coworker ditches me on maternity leave in…2-ish months…(eek!) I wore:
- pale blue button-down (Gap)
- white cableknit sweater vest (Gap)
- navy pinstriped, wide-legged, cuffed pants (Gap)

- brown peep-toed platform slingback – left foot
- black peep-toed platform slingback – right foot
- yes – I am that big a dork…but they’re the same shoe!
Afterward, Art and I hit Pizzeria Piccola in ‘Tosa for some charity eats – all proceeds went to the American Lung Association tonight!
- I took off the vest, tucked in the oxford, and unbuttoned a couple more buttons
- I removed my standard work-attire nude knee-highs
- I swapped out the mismatched shoes for my new kicks!

I thought it was an appropriate after work/pizza/gelato outing outfit – and best of all, I got the Arthur seal of approval (aka: “You’re so hot…”)
What a cutie!

Today is just another day at work…wearing a new dress…yay!
- black and gray striped, short-sleeved, v-neck sweater dress with belt (new – from H&M!) – lots of compliments on it already today!
- black cami underneath (Banana)
- black peeptoed, platform slingbacks
- my watch (Bulova) and engagement ring again – Yay!
…my life is so sad, when the only thing that gets me through the workweek is getting dressed/picking out my outfits…SAD…

So this weekend was scheduled to be very jam-packed with fun, self-assigned outings and tasks (as opposed to the rest of this summer, which was mostly assigned by others), but we ended up taking it pretty easy. Friday we were supposed to see the Muppets Take Manhattan for free outside at Pere Marquette Park, but we didn’t, so here’s what I spent Saturday and Sunday in:
Saturday: Dave Matthews concert at Alpine Valley – it was SO MUDDY, but my outfit fared well!
- white beater, previously owned by my little bro, so it was super long
- long navy layering tank, X-ed in back w/ safety pin b/c the straps were too long (Old Navy, spring ’06)
- darkish, but not too dark Long and Lean jeans (the greatest consistently cute jeans ever, from Gap – but make sure you get the ones with some stretch!)

- slim-fit, cute grey hoodie for when it got cold (Gap)
Sunday – lunch, shopping, and dinner with Arthur
- same jeans, even though they were a bit muddy
- white stretch tank (Banana)
- heathered grey henley, with buttons all the way to the bottom (my last American Eagle purchase, as I am now too old to shop there…from fall ’06)
- the Havaiianas again!

Another day, another outfit planned around a new pair of shoes…! My mom actually didn’t like today’s outfir because it doesn’t match-match:
- dark brown wrap sweater (Gap outlet, ’05)
- light blue button down (Gap)
- brown tweed full/circle skirt (Target/Merona)
- gold double-chain watch
- new flats! like the ones below, but instead of solid gold, they’re green snake skin, with the gold link detailing – I LOVE! (Crown Vintage, from DSW this weekend; gift from Arthur!)

I personally liked the non-matchy, but still goes together-ness of the look…!

Another boring office day – I was going to be adventurous today and wear the outfit I have on with my gorgeous white Michael Kors pants, but decided against it due to the crazy rain situation this morning and also because it would have probably been to risque for work…
Alas, this is what I’m wearing:
- black tunic-length, short-sleeved collared wrap shirt with eyelet detail bordering the bottom and scalloped edging at v-neck (Banana – outlet – summer ’07)
- black cami (Banana)
- black dress pants (Nine West)
- new black woven leather platform pumps (Circa Joan and David – purchased on sale from Nordstrom online for $45! Now only available at Zappos for way more $)

I’ve just got work today, then home to cook dinner for Arthur and I – Asian Night – YUM! The ‘fit today is simple/boring, but it fits the bill for my activities (or lack thereof)
- white/navy striped 3/4 sleeved oxford w/ navy ribbon belt at waist (new, from TJ Maxx)
- tan dress pants (Target/Merona summer ’05)
- tan pumps (Nine West summer ’04)
…tame, but I have recieved a few compliments on it – my fellow bankers covet conservativism, which “boring” accomodates – oh well!

So today, I’ve got regular work – nothing special, just a staff meeting this afternoon, and then after work, I’ve got an interview – at Applebee’s…yeah – Arthur has been doing than his share of wedding saving, even picking up extra freelance work, and I have NOT been keeping up my end, so Applebee’s it is – Wish me LUCK!
Since it’s cool (again) today I’m wearing new Fall clothes (again)!
- Gray and black herringbone wrap dress (from Banana; as seen below, but in gray/black, not brown/black)
- Black peep-toed, platform slingbacks
- Gold double-chain watch

August 20th, 2007 — Critique: My Outfit
Today I had nothing special to do at work, so I was able to wear a more casual outfit.
- Navy pinstriped, cuffed, wide-legged pants (Fall ’07 Gap)

- White cami
- Teal scoop-necked sweater (Fall ’05 Gap) – my FAVORITE sweater
- Brown peep-toe, platform slingbacks
- Long, triple-chain, tri-color gold necklace with smoky topaz pendant

Critique: Gap’s Line of Wide-Leg Pants
- LOVE them!
- Because my thighs and butt are my…most ample…body parts, they’re not really “wide-legged,” but they do fit extremely well in the waist (no bunching), butt, and legs.
- They look great with my platform shoes, and since the whole silhouette is bigger, actually need the chunky shoes to ground the outfit.
- I will DEFINITELY be going back for seconds…and thirds…(don’t tell Art!)
- Get them at Gap!
